I had originally planned to interview my grandmother, who is 82, because she grew up during a fascinating time period in American history. Unfortunately, she was not feeling very well and was not up for the interview, so I interviewed my dad instead. The interview turned out really well, I got some really interesting stories from Desert Storm/ Operation Iraqi Freedom. The one I chose to spotlight was about a certain time the chemical alarms went off.
I would have done a few things differently if I could do it again. I would have gone deeper into my dad's child hood, which is something that to this day I know little about. He grew up in Louisiana with a troublemaker of a brother, so I'm sure he's got some great stories.
