Projects
Our team banner project was the first project we did this year. In this project we make a banner based on our team name to hang over our classroom. Each group was given a piece of the banner to make, in my case the fire. Over the next few weeks we designed, cut out, and painted our piece. Once we all finished, we nailed all the parts together on the background. Here is the finished banner:
I was incredibly proud of the fire. We had arguably the hardest piece of the entire banner and it was well executed. I was the master carpenter, and therefore was in charge of cutting the fire. It was definitely very fun to do, but took a really long time. I am probably more proud of the fire than anything else I have done this year.
For our Dia de los Muertos exhibition we made poems for spoken word and presented them with instruments we made. We made our original poems and incorporated them into a group poem. Over nearly a month, we refined and memorized the poem. Our final product was performed at our fall exhibition at our school and at a park in downtown Chula Vista.

My favorite moment from the exhibition was when I first tried the thong-o-phone and it sounded good. My biggest worry was that it would be extremely out of tune and sound horrible. Our notes sounded right and I could play sounds on it. This, I think, was a defining factor for our group, because one of our groups distinguishing factors was our beat. Our beat was unique and our thong-o-phone played a large role in it being unique.
Our POL's were one of the last things we did in the semester. For our POL's we presented how we grew as a writer, as a physicist, and as a person. We also made powerpoint presentations that included pictures that we thought represented how we grew as a writer, scientist, or person.

For a first POL, I thought I did really well. I definitely feel like there was room for improvement, like anything else. I could have put more prep time into it by writing it out word for word, but I felt like it was pore natural going off of bullet points. I passed and it is one less thing l am stressed about.
