Science current events
Every Tuesday for homework, we do a science current event. For a science current event, you find a science article, from somewhere on the internet or Mrs. Quinny's DP. Then you read the article, and either print it or send it to Mrs. Quinny. Next, you write a one paragraph opinion reflection on the article, and sometimes, you define three words from the article. It is due the next day.
I have learned so much cool stuff about science from the current events. I have learned about missions to Mars, new technology, and other cool things I would have had no idea about. This has made me really enjoy the current events.

One of my favorite science current events I did was of the article "3-D Printed Car Takes the Streets."
My response:
Today I read "3-D Printed Car Takes the Streets". I personally think this is completely genius. People can buy a car like this at an extremely low cost (around 10k, cheap for a new car) for an electric car, this would be an enormous step for the world. Right now, the car can only go around 40 mph and would be destroyed in a crash (along with you), but if this technology can be improved upon then this will be a huge leap for transportation. I would buy one of these cars in the future if the technology is improved, so I think many others would too.
Three words & definitions:
Automobile:
a road vehicle, typically with four wheels, powered by an internal combustion engine or electric motor and able to carry a small number of people.
Industry:
economic activity concerned with the processing of raw materials and manufacture of goods in factories.
Extruded:
shape (a material such as metal or plastic) by forcing it through a die.
