Proyecto final
This was our final project of the year for Spanish. each kid in our class made cards and toys for kids at the Ciudad de los Angeles (an orphanage in Mexico). Me and my partner made rubber band guns that shot three rounds at a time for 11 year old Martin.
The first thing we did is we were given 2 hours to make a prototype out of small materials. Me and Peter made rubber band guns out of Popsicle sticks and it worked well. I went with this Idea and found a different design to make into the final product.
This is the peer critique we got on the prototype.
This is the reflection we did on the prototype.
Our prototype was made from Popsicle sticks and Glue. It had a 4 pronged wheel that served as the firing mechanism and the trigger. When you pulled the trigger, It would release the rubber band at the top.

This was an initial design idea I had. I was able to find a template for a very similar gun we could make and we went with it. The picture below is of us making this design.
Below is the final product.
The templates on the internet we glued onto wood which we then cut. These pieces would then be glued together into the final product. The first wood we used ended up being too thick once you accounted for all the layers of the gun. We found a thinner wood, and began cutting. This was done on a scroll saw, which is very maneuverable, but even then it was very hard to cut with it being so detailed. Mine turned out better than expected. We then glued the pieces and left them overnight. The next day, I sanded and assembled the rest of the gun and made sure it functioned properly. I was very proud of the final product. I personally think I deserved a high grade on this project because I put a ton of work into this project and I didn't see that in most of my peers' products.
